With roughly a week to go until College Football 25 is released, EA Sports has shared the first look at gameplay for the upcoming college football simulation game.

The gameplay shows two people playing a match: college football content creator James "BordeauxYT" Bordeaux and Donovan Edwards. The latter is a running back for the University of Michigan Football team and one of three cover athletes for College Football 25.

In addition to voiceovers from Bordeaux and Edwards, we also have some commentary from EA Madden Championship Series broadcaster Nick Mizesko, College Football 25's design director Scott O'Gallagher, and gameplay designer Will Sykes.

To accompany the gameplay, we are provided commentary on some of the new changes we have seen in past coverage and briefly in other gameplay deep dives for College Football 25, such as the new passing mechanics, which provide three different colors signifying how safe and accurate someone is throwing the ball. Other features discussed in the gameplay include pitch types, the Stadium Pulse meter, and the new Wear & Tear system.

In addition to a gameplay deep dive, EA Sports announced yesterday on social media that this week the company will reveal College Ultimate Team, the launch roster, and the new additions coming to fan-favorite game mode Road to Glory.

College Football 25 is the first game in the simulation college football gaming series since 2013's NCAA Football 14. College Football 25 is also the first college football video game to include current student-athletes, and more importantly, the first to include real-life student-athletes playing for Divison 1 FBS football programs.

College Football 25 will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 16 for those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle, or July 19 for everyone else.
