Switch Game Deals for October Prime Day
There aren't many Switch game deals going into October Prime Day this year, but still a couple of notable discounts for us to go over. This includes one of my GOTY contenders, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, for $19.99. There's also Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 1 also for $19.99. If you're wondering why there aren't more deals, it's because Amazon and Nintendo of America are in some kind of beef at the minute, with Amazon not selling any new Nintendo games since the summer, unlisting all digital products, and ceasing gift card sales.
Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 1
Great news for Metal Gear fans: the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 is now half off at Amazon for Nintendo Switch, dropping the price to just $18.98 during the October Prime Day sales.
This handsome collection includes, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear (NES/FC version), and Snake’s Revenge. With MGS Delta on the horizon, it’s a perfect chance to revisit these classics before diving into the remake.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
"The 2D Metroidvania is a perfect fit for the return of Prince of Persia." states Phil Hornshaw in his 8/10 review of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for IGN. Amazon is offering the excellent 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless Controller for only $47.99 for the October Prime Day sales. It's compatible with Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PC, Android, and even iOS. The 8BitDo Ultimate is often considered one of the best 3rd party wireless controllers for the Nintendo Switch, and it's a lot cheaper than the Pro controller.

Should You Wait for Switch 2 Next Year?
It's up to you whether to invest in a Switch console so close to its successor. Nintendo has said on the record that it will announce its next generation console before April 2025, and indicated the console won’t launch until after its current financial year. Still, Switch 2 excitement is at fever pitch, and we even have developers saying they plan to release their upcoming games on the console.
As for whether you should wait when buying games, SD cards, portable chargers—there’s little need to hold off. Switch accessories like SD cards and chargers will likely be compatible with the next console, and games purchased now should still play on the Switch 2. So, if you see a great deal during Prime Day, it’s still a smart investment for your current Switch setup and potentially for the future console as well.

What Is October Prime Day?
October Prime Day, or Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days as they like to call it, is a great opportunity to save some serious cash on your favorite hobbies before the Black Friday sales. The annual Fall sale features discounts on thousands of items, with new lightning deals every hour that you won't want to miss.
As one of the biggest sales events to kick off the start of the Black Friday season, it attracts many companies, including those outside of Amazon, offering exclusive discounts available only on Prime Day. If you're already a Prime member, you can access the sale without much bother. But, there's also a free 30-day trial if you're intrigued and just want to check out some of the new discounts.
Prime Day is absolutely one of the best times to buy physical video games and even consoles during the sale (such as the PS5 down to just $449). There are plenty more deals to check out for Switch, PS5, and Xbox.
