A throwdown between generations happened on Father's Day 2023 at the Sole Play Gaming Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. NBA 2K24 YouTuber iPodKingCarter (IKC) and his son, David, joined MVP quarterback Cam Newton and his son, Jaden, for an epic video game challenge. Young went up versus old in a gauntlet of new and retro games in the temporarily transformed Black & Unlimited Lounge.

If you missed the Black & Unlimited Fatherhood Streamathon when it first took over the Sole Play Gaming Lounge on June 19, IGN has a handy-dandy link to the recorded stream. The event was organized by Cxmmunity Media (CXM), a non-profit organization that aims to provide opportunities for young minorities in esports and the gaming landscape.

Black & Unlimited Fatherhood Streamathon Full Stream

The Black & Unlimited Streamathon began on June 19 at 4 PM EDT. The stream contains footage of IKC and Cam playing games with their sons while talking about Black roots and what it means to be Black in America. The stream runs for about two and a half hours, not counting the intro countdown. (Scrub as you see fit.)

Highlights From Black & Unlimited Fatherhood Streamathon

IKC opens the stream by asking Cam what Black fatherhood means to him. Then they throw down in the '90s arcade classic NBA Jam. The ante is upped when David and Jaden join their fathers for some 2-on-2. Unlike their fathers and all Xillenials, they don't have pixelated basketball fire running through their veins.

NBA Jam is followed by a game of sports charades wherein David and Jaden silently act out sports and baffle their fathers, who take their best guesses regardless.

The next game competition is a VR challenge. Cam and IKC pair off with their kids and race cars in virtual reality. (While talking about food. Beware your own hunger while watching.)

The last game played on the stream is Capcom Sports Club, a 1997 arcade title that packs several sports into one game.

Fathers and sons relax at the end of the stream and talk further about black fatherhood, responsibility, and the challenges of being a parent. Father's Day is done, but this chill stream goes down nicely on any day of the year.
