Vegeta made an odd comment in a recent Chapter of Dragon Ball Super. According to him, he and Goku have pushed their bodies to their physical limits. In this same vein, they should have been on par with every opponent they've gone up against in recent years. The way he sees it, the difference wasn't how powerful either side was but rather how that power was used; if he could optimize his output as they did, he would have had a much better chance of winning. If this were any other series, he might have had a point, but this is Dragon Ball; suggesting that a fight wasn't settled by a sizeable power gap is absurd, especially the ones Vegeta mentioned.
