Few games have ever been the subject of as much contention as DmC: Devil May Cry, Ninja Theory's 2013 reboot of the popular Devil May Cry series. Even before its launch, DmC attracted an overwhelmingly negative response from audiences with its drastic changes to the series' combat, a controversial shift in tone, and its unrecognizable depiction of the lead protagonist, Dante. While the reboot is still considered a low point for the franchise, many players have since warmed up to its fluid combat and ambitious concepts, especially after many of its most egregious issues were addressed in the 2015 Definitive Edition. But between the game's poor sales and Ninja Theory having since moved on to other projects, it's unlikely that DmC will ever receive a sequel.
