Developer Arctic Hazard has announced Norse, an upcoming turn-based tactics game set in Norway in the age of Vikings. It promises an "historically authentic" world where you embark on a quest for vengeance while building settlements, managing communities, forging alliances, and fighting tactical battles. Norse is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Norse promises the chance to grow and govern your settlement; you'll "pass judgments, settle disputes, dispense punishments and rewards, and initiate major village projects." You'll also recruit your own band of warriors to take with you into the turn-based tactics battles, practice Viking martial arts known as Glima, forge alliances with other clans and trade with them, loot and craft items, unlock equipment and new abilities, and more.

Arctic Hazard describes Norse's story as such: "Embark on an epic quest for vengeance as Gunnar, a young warrior whose destiny is forged in blood and betrayal. After the treacherous Steinarr Far-Spear murders his father, Jarl Gripr, and decimates his people, Gunnar's path is clear: rebuild, ally, and rise to reclaim honor and justice."
