Lenovo has just recently dropped the price of the MSI Gaming X Trio GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card to $592.49 after two stackable coupon codes "BUYMORELENOVO" and "EXTRA5". The RTX 4070 is an excellent choice for someone who (1) wants to run all of the latest games comfortably in 1080p or 1440p, (2) wants to stay as futureproof as possible with the newest generation GPU, and (3) doesn't want to spend a crazy sum of money. This card matches the performance of the older $699 RTX 3080 but with the benefit of additional features and at a lower price.

MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card for Only $592.49

Although now a generation old, the GeForce 3080 was certainly no slouch. It was the first card that could realistically handle 4K gaming (with the right settings). Fast forward to the present day and there are better cards for 4K gaming, but the RTX 3080 can still easily hold its own in any game at 1080p and 1440p. The GeForce RTX 4070 performs almost identically to the RTX 3080 and, at this price, it's $100 cheaper than the 3080's launch price. The words "NVIDIA" and "value" aren't really synonymous these days, but the RTX 4070 seems to buck that trend.

In addition to the better performance per dollar compared to the RTX 3080, the RTX 4070 also supports DLSS 3.0, which is DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support this can be a pretty signifcant FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0 and that widens the performance gap between the two. More and more games support DLSS 3.0 like Diablo 4 and Hogwarts Legacy.

More Powerful Alternative: RTX 3070 Ti for $757.99

The RTX 4070 Ti performs better than the RTX 3090. Compared to AMD's best card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it only performs slighly worse without ray tracing, but it performs better with ray tracing enabled. It also supports DLSS 3.0 (DLSS 2.0 + frame generation), something both the AMD cards and GeForce RTX 30 series lack, and that increases the performance gap for games that support it. It's still a solid card for 4K gaming and significantly cheaper than the RTX 4080 or 4090.
