Since it first appeared online in early 2019, Nathan Pyle's webcomic Strange Planet has been charming readers with its quirky depictions of daily life, shown through the lens of alien "beings." In a series of unrelated four-panel strips, the sock-wearing, nameless characters discuss common experiences using trademark literalistic dialogue, gently drawing attention to some of the world's small absurdities. Strange Planet has drawn in fans from all over the world, and now the strip is being adapted to an animated series on Apple TV+, set to premiere on Aug. 9. Pyle is co-creator, alongside Dan Harmon, with Amalia Levari as showrunner. The voice cast for the show includes Tunde Adebimpe, Demi Adejuyigbe, Lori Tan Chinn, Community's Danny Pudi, and Hannah Einbinder.
