In the Mortal Kombat franchise, Rain has long been one of the most intriguing ninja warriors. He was part of the game's initial color palette-swapping and Ed Boon crafted the character as an homage to Prince's "Purple Rain." In time, though, Rain became a key player in Edenia's politics, and had a big hand in Princess Kitana's empire crumbling.
