Dell Cyber Monday Deals on Gaming Laptops
Dell (and Alienware, which Dell owns) likes to host Cyber Monday "Door Buster" deals on Sunday and Monday. You'll need to be on your toes with the doorbusters because the good one can sell out within minutes. Expect to find deals on Alienware m16 and m18 laptops, the slim Alienware x14 and x16 laptops, and Dell G15 and G16 laptops.
The Sleek Alienware x14 and x16 Gaming Laptops Are on Sale
The Alienware x-series laptops are thinner, sleeker versions of their m-series counterparts. They're also quite powerful. In fact, the GPUs used in the x-series laptops are identical to the ones used in the m-series, so gaming performance is about the same. There is a slight tradeoff in the CPU; the x-series laptops uses i7 H-series CPUs and the m-series uses the more powerful i7 HX-series CPUs. The performance difference is pretty negligible, however, and in return you get a nicer looking, more portable machine.
Alienware m16 RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop for $1399.99
This Alienware m16 laptop features a 16" 2560x1600 QHD+ display, your choice between the Intel Core i7-13700HX or AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX processor, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. If you're not married to a brand, I'd recommend the Ryzen CPU because it's a superior performer. The RTX 4070 mobile GPU performs on par with the RTX 3080.
Dell G15 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop for $899.99
This is the least expensive RTX 4060 gaming laptop that's listed on Dell right now. The G-series laptops are less expensive than their Alienware counterparts, but they still make excellent gaming rigs. This particular laptop is outfitted with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The RTX 4060 mobile graphics card sits right in between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti in terms of performance. That's a lot of power for a sub-$1000 laptop. It gives you plenty of oomph for running games on the native 1080p display.
Alienware m16 RTX 4090 Gaming Laptop for $2799.99
This Alienware m16 laptop comes equipped with a 16" 2560x1600 QHD+ display, Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The 4090 is the most powerful mobile GPU out right now by a huge margin. It's roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 / RTX 4070 Ti GPU. In real world terms, this GPU is more than capable enough of handling any game at the display's native QHD+ resolution at framerates of 60fps and beyond, even with ray tracing enabled.
HP Cyber Monday Deals on Gaming Laptops
HP has two models of gaming laptops: premium HP OMEN and the budget-minded Victus. The OMEN gaming PCs have better build quality with more premium material, more robust cooling, and higher-end CPU and GPU options. However, the Victus is still an excellent laptop at a great price, especially if you're happy with more modest GPU options like the RTX 4050 or 4060. Expect to see both on sale for Cyber Monday.
HP OMEN 16 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop from $849.99
This is one of the best prices we've seen on RTX 4060 gaming laptops. Performance-wise, the RTX 4060 mobile GPU sits right in between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti. It offers plenty of power to run games on the laptop's native 1080p display. In fact, there's enough juice here to opt for the 2560x1440 (QHD) upgrade if you desire. The Intel Core i7-13700HX is the more powerful CPU, however the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS is more efficient, so it runs cooler and has a longer battery life.
HP OMEN 17 RTX 4090 Gaming Laptop for $2119.99
You must upgrade to the "i7 + RTX 4090 combo" and "2560x1440 display" to get the config listed above.
This is a laughably inexpensive price for an RTX 4090 equipped gaming laptop. Look elsewhere and expect to pay $3K or more. The config we've built out has an Intel Core i7-13700HX processor which, unfortunately, can't be upgraded to a Core i9 CPU, however you can upgrade the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD if you want to.
HP OMEN 17 RTX 4080 Gaming Laptop for $1999.99
This HP OMEN laptop is equipped with an RTX 4080 GPU, which is the second most powerful mobile GPU currently available. The RTX 4080 mobile GPU performs about 20%-35% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Compared to desktop variants, the mobile RTX 4080 approaches a performance level similar to the desktop RTX 3070 Ti. It's definitely more than enough power to run most games on the display's native 1440p resolution, even at maximum settings.
HP OMEN 16 RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop for $1349.99
This HP OMEN gaming laptop features a 16" display with an upgraded 2560x1440 QHD resolution and the GPU to back it up. The RTX 4070 mobile GPU performs on par with the RTX 3080. It's a little bit faster than the RTX 3070 Ti but not quite as powerful as the RTX 3080 Ti. This config is also paired with the 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700HX Raptor Lake processor.
HP Victus 15 RTX 4050 Gaming Laptop from $699.99
The Victus is HP's new line of value-oriented gaming PCs for 2023. You can choose either the AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS or 13th gen Intel Core i5-13500H processor, a GeForce RTX 4050 GPU, 16GB of DDR RAM, and a 512GB SSD. Performance-wise, the RTX 4050 mobile GPU is much faster than the previous generation's RTX 3050 Ti mobile GPU. In fact, with DLSS 3.0 enabled, it's pretty much as fast as the RTX 3060. What this means is that this card is powerful enough to handle most games at 1080p.
HP OMEN Transcend 16" Mini-LED RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop for $1699.99
The OMEN Transcend is the newest gaming laptop from HP. It's thinner and lighter than the OMEN laptops, and this particular model has a gorgeous 16" 2560x1600 QHD+ Mini-LED display. It also has the power to handle just about any game you throw at in, thanks to the Intel Core i9-13900X CPU and RTX 4070 GPU.
Lenovo Cyber Monday Deals on Gaming Laptops
Lenovo Cyber Monday deals require more elbow grease to find because the best deals are often hidden in a sea of configs that aren't really discounted very much. That said, the actual deals are sometimes very very good. Lenovo Legion laptops are generally priced higher than similarly configured gaming laptops from other vendors so finding a deal on Cyber Monday is extra rewarding. Specifically look for deals on Lenovo Legion 5 and 7 Pro laptops, but you'll also find deals on Lenovo's new budget-minded LOQ laptops as well. Several of their deals can be further discounted with the 5% off sitewide coupon code "EXTRA5".
Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 16" RTX 4090 Gaming Laptop for $2750
Apply TWO coupons: "HOLIDAYSURPRISE" AND "EXTRA5" (no quotes)
This is Lenovo's most powerful gaming laptop on sale for Black Friday. The 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake CPU is one of Intel's fastest mobile gaming chips. It's paired with the monstrous RTX 4090 mobile GPU, which is roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 GPU. That means this GPU is capable of 4K gaming. Since the display is QHD+ instead of 4K, there should be ample headroom to run max settings and even ray tracing enabled while maintaining comfortable fps.

ASUS TUF 15" RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop for $999.99
Best Buy definitely has the best price we've ever seen on an RTX 4070 equipped laptop. The RTX 4070 in question has a TGP of 80W (105W with Dynamic Boost), which isn't too shabby at all, considering the most powerful mobile RTX 4070 has a max TGP of 115W. It should run any game on the laptop's native 1080p display with ease. It's paired with a 12th gen Intel Core i7-12700 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.
Should you upgrade your gaming laptop?
Of course the answer completely depends on your situation. However, in terms of technical advancements, both the newer CPUs and newer GPUs this time around are significant improvements over any gaming laptop built in 2021 or earlier. The new 13th and 14th gen Intel Core i7 and i9 and AMD Ryzen 7 7000 CPUs, as well as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 series GPUs are powerful enough to tackle any game that has been released, and at up to 4K resolution. Prices are better this year as well; the supply shortages brought about by COVID have mostly been resolved. You may also want to consider upgrading to gaming PC over a laptop if you don't need portability.
Gaming CPUs to consider
The 13th gen and 14th gen Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs are pretty significant improvements over the 12th gen Intel Alder Lake CPU (which itself was a huge upgrade over its precedessors). If you have an 11th gen or older CPU, than you'll see some real performance gains by upgrading to the newer CPUs. On the AMD side, the Ryzen 7000 series processors are also a noticeable step up. For gamers, the new AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX and the Ryzen 9 7845/7945HX CPUs are just as powerful as their Intel Core i7/i9 counterparts while consuming less power. See our guide comparing Intel and AMD CPUs for more info.
Gaming GPUs to consider
For gamers with deep pockets, the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 mobile GPUs set a new bar in gaming performance. They are the first mobile GPUs that allow 4K gaming at 60+ fps and ray tracing on in a gaming laptop. As you get lower down the RTX 40 series ladder, you'll still get healthy performance upgrades over the RTX 30 series cards. The RTX 4070 performance lands somewhere in between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 4060 sits between the 3070 and 3070 Ti.
AMD still has competitive capable GPUs but they compete with the lower to mid range GeForce models. For example, the new RX 7600M XT is on par with the RTX 4060. However. I would recommend going with NVIDIA this time around. NVIDIA has the advantage of DLSS technology, which gives you a pretty significant performance boost without compromising the visuals. AMD has a similar tech called FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), but isn't on the same level. Since laptops are constained by heat and power requirements, the GPUs aren't as powerful as their desktop counterparts, so every bit of performance counts.
