The DCU will be launching its first projects in the coming years, and it will be attempting to rebuild the reputation of DC characters on screen. The DCEU went for a darker and more mythological approach to the classic heroes, but it ignored much of the history and fun of DC Comics. With The Flash's lukewarm response from fans and critics, it may be time to use a different character than Barry Allan for now. The Golden Age of DC Comics has the perfect option, Jay Garrick. The original Flash can finally be given his due in the DCU and placed at the forefront of the Flash family.
