The films have entirely focused on John Wick and his campaign of revenge, first against the Russians, then against the entire High Table. The Continental will be a more contained story as it looks at the life of Winston Scott, the person who manages the Continental during the events of John Wick. Exploring the backstory of some side characters is exactly what the franchise needs as it continues to grow past John Wick 4.
