When thinking of the impact and influence of the Zelda Franchise, fans will rarely consider motion controls as part of its legacy. Nevertheless, motion controls are an important part of the history of The Legend of Zelda series, for better or worse. Some fans hate them, others love them, but everybody has an opinion on them. This is the great impact that motion controls have had on the Zelda series, and they have still never gone away. After all, both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom still implement motion controls, despite them being very different from their most infamous appearance in Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii way back in 2011. As controversial as motion controls have been for Zelda fans, they've nonetheless become a staple of the series that will likely continue to evolve alongside the greater gameplay elements of the franchise itself.
