Amazon is offering an Ecoflow Delta 2 1024Wh LiFePO4 Power Station for $629.00 after a $370 instant discount. This is the lowest price we've seen this year for this high-capacity power station from a highly regarded brand and equipped with LiFEPO4 batteries, the best type of battery chemistry for power stations.

Ecoflow Delta 2 1024Wh LiFePO4 Power Station for $639

The Ecoflow Delta 2 is a power station that can be charged by traditional AC or up to 500W of solar. It has six AC ports capable of up to 1800W max output, four standard USB Type-A ports (two with 18W fast charge), and two USB Type-C ports (with 100W Power Delivery). Although it's typical used as a mobile backup power solution when you have no available grid power, it can also work as an always-on passthrough AC power strip as well. It has an EPS function that will automatically swap to battery power when there is a power outage. Keep in mind, though, that it doesn't function exactly as a UPS because there is a small delay (about 30ms) before the switch. Some electronics like PCs may restart instead of staying on.

The huge 1024Whr battery can power your PC or small household appliances for hours instead of minutes. The Delta 2 uses the newer LiFePO4 cells instead of the traditional NCM sells you find in the original Delta. LiFePO4 cells have inherently safer chemistry and have a much higher cycle lifespan than NCM cells. They also have lower calendar aging. The only negatives of LiFEPO4 compared to NCM are the higher price and the lower energy density (heavier weight). That said, the Delta 2 weighs only 27 pounds, which is very respectable for a battery capacity of this size, and with this deal it's not much pricer than NCM alternatives.

Standard "UPS" battery backups like APC and CyberPower are cheaper because they use traditional lead acid batteries. As opposed to lithium batteries like LFP and NCM, lead acid batteries are super heavy, have a much shorter lifespan, and are far less efficient. This is the primary reason why your UPS battery backup should be replaced every 3-5 years. An LFP battery will generally retain at least 85% of its charge even after 10 years of service, and it will do so with even more usage than a lead acid battery.

The Delta 2 is a smart battery and thus you can change settings, check on its status, and power on or off outlets remotely, all from your phone. In my personal experience, Ecoflow has good product support and they are continuously rolling out new firmware and software updates. These are the main reasons why I would choose Ecoflow over other popular brands like Bluetti or Jackery, because Ecoflow seems to do a better job of standing by their products after the sale.
