Netflix has announced a release date for Cobra Kai Season 6, revealing plans to kick off the three-part finale season this summer.

Part 1 of the 15-episode season premieres July 18, 2024, with Part 2 set to arrive November 28, 2024. Part 3’s batch of episodes won’t release until an unspecified date next year, finally bringing the Karate Kid follow-up show to a close in 2025. We’ve still got about two-and-a-half months to go before we reach the beginning of the end for Cobra Kai. Until then, you can watch the Season 6 trailer here.

“Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley,” an official description for Season 6 says, “our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate.”

Netflix hasn’t confirmed how it will split the 15 episodes across its three release dates. While it might make sense to see each part get five episodes, it’s best not to expect anything until the streamer reveals further details.

Netflix announced that Season 6 would be Cobra Kai’s last in early 2023. Creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg released a statement at the time, promising that the final run of episodes will be the “biggest season of Cobra Kai yet.”

“Reacquainting the world with The Karate Kid universe has been our humble honor," the creators said at the time. "Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted."

Cobra Kai began as a YouTube-exclusive show in 2018 before eventually moving over to Netflix starting with Season 3 in 2021. The streaming giant has remained as the series’ home since, with its most recent outing, Season 5, arriving in fall 2022. It will have been nearly two years since viewers last got new Cobra Kai episodes when Season 6 finally premieres this summer.

We enjoyed Season 5 of the show, awarding it a 7/10 in our review. At the time, we said, “Cobra Kai returns with the evil boss of all evil bosses, a bunch of scores to settle, and a karate empire to thwart in another winning installment.”
