Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3. depicted the end of a chapter in the team's story, but also revealed that Peter Quill would be continuing his adventures on Earth. While the movie might have set up the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it did leave plenty of questions concerning what version of Star-Lord audiences would get to see next. Thus far, the version that had been depicted onscreen wasn't as comic-accurate as some of the MCU's defining characters.
